- Some prompt or model route settings, depending on format.
UI themes, custom CSS, or web-only extensions usually do not transfer directly.
Three-step migration
Step 1: Export and organize
Collect character cards, world books, and presets from your existing setup. Keep original files when possible.
Step 2: Import into Tavern Studio
Use drag-and-drop or the + import entry to bring files into Tavern Studio.
Step 3: Reconnect models and bindings
After import, review API settings, world book bindings, and preset assignments in Chat Settings.
Compatibility FAQ
Why does a migrated card have no image or metadata?
The file may not be a PNG card with embedded metadata. Re-export the character as a proper PNG card if possible.
Can I migrate themes and custom UI?
Usually no. Tavern Studio uses its own native interface.
Why do advanced regex triggers behave differently?
World book matching details may differ between tools. Review imported entries and test important triggers.
